J.C. Serrato, Jr., M.D., F.A.C.S., F.I.C.S.
Dr. Serrato is Surgeon-in-Chief at the Serrato Spinal Center and Director
of the Columbus Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Center in Columbus, Georgia.
He received his medical degree from the University of Nuevo Leon School
of Medicine in Monterrey, Mexico, where he completed his internship
and residency. He also completed a residency in orthopedic surgery and
trauma at the affiliated hospital of St. Louis, Missouri; University
of Iowa, Affiliated Hospital of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and the City Hospital
in Columbus, Georgia, as well as the Baptist Medical Center, VA Hospital,
Crippled Childrens Hospital in Birmingham Alabama, and Jefferson Hilman
Hospital. Dr. Serrato did a 2-year orthopaedic fellowship in spine surgery
at the Methodist Hospital and Veterans Hospital in Houston, Texas, and
was instrumental in the development of the Harrington rod and the Serrato
rod. He is a member of numerous professional committees as well as serves
on the board of various professional societies.
